Sylar? OMG! Where?

I've decided to f-lock my journal. Most of my Heroes and event-related posts have been left unlocked, but I locked most of my picketing-stories. The only ones that I left unlocked are the ones from SAG day, the Solidarity with Writers March, Heroes Day, and my last day of picketing, which also happened to be Scifi day.

Anyways, please comment if you wanna be added! I'll probably friend you back anyway, but I like to know why I'm being friended. :)

CUTEST. THING. EVER.

Mohinder & Molly <3
I came across this short film with Adair Tishler (Molly) today, and it's THE MOST ADORABLE THING I HAVE EVER SEEN! It's called "Six and the City," and it's basically the six year old's version of Sex and the City. It's only 10 minutes:

Hello flist! I have made a picspam of the Heroes cast. Don't ask me why, I just ~felt like it~. Enjoy the touchy-feeliness!

Bondage?
My brief thoughts on last night's episode )

I forgot to link to this interview with Bryan Fuller last week, but I really wanted to share it with you guys, so if you haven't read it yet, you should read his answers to the first two questions. The rest of the questions are kinda spoilery, though, so beware.

I was really encouraged by some of the stuff that he said. Especially the thing about how his favorite characters became his least favorites in volume 3, followed by mentions of Claire and Mohinder as examples of that. It gives me hope for Momo!

Peter is a little too excited
Blah. Why is it Friday already? I really wanted to write a proper reaction post this week, since I didn't last week, and the week before that it was super short and boring, but... I really haven't been in the mood, so I think I'll just make a brief post about the things I wanted to comment on, because I did rather enjoy this episode. I wouldn't say it was brilliant, but... MOMO! MOMO WAS AWESOME! I must comment on Teh Awesomeness of teh Momo.

Yesterday this guy from my acting class gave me a ride home and we geeked out about BSG. It was ossum! )

Overall, I enjoyed the episode. It was nothing special, but it didn't annoy me like last week's episode did (btw, I'm really sorry I didn't comment on your reaction posts last week. I read them all, but I've been really busy, and frankly, the episode didn't excite or piss me off enough to say anything about it).

~*~Sunshine Smile~*~
I was fully expecting this episode to be terrible, even after seeing some East Coast people's reactions that said the show was good again, so I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw just how un-terrible it turned out to be. I mean, not only was it not bad, but I actually liked it. A lot. And not in the way that I tolerated the "good" episodes last volume because at least they were not as awful as most of the other episodes. This episode was actually good! And it really felt like a season one episode to me. The pacing was good, the characters were human and likable, and they managed to get a lot done in one episode without making it feel rushed. It was just really solid, and it felt like a breath of fresh air after being nearly strangled to death for an entire volume. I just hope that the rest of the volume can stay on this level or at least only dip slightly below it. I don't need "amazing." "Good" is good enough.

Episode 3x13 Reaction Post

LOL LOSER
It's official. I've finally reached the point in my Heroes-watching where the stupidity doesn't bother me anymore and I can just sit back and enjoy the crack (it's fuuun! Come join me!). A lot of people were really angered by this episode, but I'm kind of just like "LOL, whatever. There was violence. And pretty people. And fire. Shiny!" Am I becoming a casual viewer or something? I don't know, but I think I kinda like it. Caring about things is way too stressful.

Anyway, since I'm feeling lazy this week, I think I'm just gonna take the notes that I typed on my computer while I was watching the episode and then add to them if I feel like it. It'll be a little more scattered than my regular reaction posts, which tend to be divided by the different storylines, but whatever, there's more capslock this way! Everyone likes capslock, right?!

WAR! DUALITY! DUEL! DUAL! I DON'T KNOW WHAT ANY OF THESE TITLES HAVE TO DO WITH THE EPISODE! IS IT BECAUSE OF THE ~DUAL~ NATURE OF HUMAN BEINGS? DO WE ALL HAVE ANGELS AND MONSTERS IN US? ARE WE, AT ONCE, BOTH HEROES & VILLAINS? IS THIS A MOMOLOGUE? )

Whew! I'm done! That took forever because I kept on slacking off, and then I took a break to watch Pushing Daisies in the middle. I am a lazy, lazy h00r. Now I just need to get with the commenting, because I have a bunch of posts/comments that I wanna to respond to. Whyyy do I always put these things off???

Me? Evil?
I genuinely liked this episode, but I'm starting to worry that my standards have been so lowered that I don't even know when something is bad anymore, because I'm still seeing people rage about how awful the show is, and I think it's... actually getting better. I mean, I still think that they screwed up big time this season, and they haven't even come close to redeeming themselves... but I'm not gonna let my anger blind me so much that I can't even enjoy the show when it's being fun. That's just silly.

ETA: *snort* I just realized that I completely forgot about the Ando/Daphne/Matt section of this episode. Oops?

Mohinjection
My grandmother and I just watched 3x11 together, but our DVR didn't record the last few seconds of 3x10 last week, so before we started watching, I asked her if she wanted me to upload it on the computer for her, or if I should just fill her in myself, and the following lolzy conversation ensued:

Cut in case you haven't watched 3x10 yet )

In other news, the general consensus over at the Superpower Meme seems to be that I have ~*~MIND CONTROL POWAHZ~*~. I can put ~ideas~ into people's heads. Who knew?

ETA: Oh no! I feel dizzy! And warm! And weak! I better not be getting sick! Wasn't I JUST sick like, a few months ago?! UGH.

FYG Mylar
Look, guys! It's a new Sendhil interview from the Official Heroes Magazine! It was an interesting read. I was pleased to discover that he and Zach rehearsed all of their S1 stuff (well, he didn't say "S1," but I'm assuming that's what he meant), and that he and Adrian always rehearse when they have scenes together (Aww... yay for dedication! I demand more Mohinder/Nathan scenes! Or "Future Where Sylar Has Killed Nathan and Is Impersonating Him" Mohinder/"Nathan" scenes! Although, I seriously doubt THAT'S ever gonna happen, what with Sylar being such a... I'm getting sidetracked. I should close this parenthesis). And then while he was talking about their FYG rehearsals, he also happened to mention that Mohinder was Nathan's "Secretary of State" in that future, which... what? Now I'm wondering if that was actually in the script, or if the director told him, or it it's just something from Sendhil's own personal canon, because Mohinder is SO not qualified to be the SoS. I mean, technically, I don't think there are any "official" requirements for that position (not any that I know of, anyway... I'm assuming you have to at least be above a certain age?), but c'mon, the guy's a geneticist, it's not like he has any foreign policy experience. What was Sylathan smoking when he made him fourth in line for the Presidency? I mean, sure, it'd be a step up from a genocidal maniac, but... LOL, it's Mohinder. The thought of Secretary of State!Mohinder makes me laugh. LOLOLOL. He was probably just his Top Science Adviser.

Heh, random post is random. I miss season one. Also, sorry I haven't been replying to my comments lately. I've been... well, okay, I haven't been THAT busy, just lazy and bad moody. Yeah, I suck.

3x10 Episode Reaction

Hiro is Pikachu
I didn't hate it! I might even go so far as to say that I... liked it. Maybe my standards have just been lowered to the point where not-hating an episode is like, a huge accomplishment, but all I know is that the thought of rewatching this episode with my grandmother does not pain me, and that makes me really happy! So, in light of my newly found not-hate, I've decided that I'm not even going to rant about how the whole eclipse thing makes no sense (except to say that there was NOT an eclipse the first time Nathan flew, damnit! You'd think they'd remember that since they just showed us a flasback of that scene TWO WEEKS ago! .. Okay, I'm done). I even enjoyed most of the Sylar/Elle scenes, so there's definitely something funny going on here.

Sylar and Elle )

Matt, Daphne, Hiro, and Ando )

Peter and Nathan )

Claire and Noah )

And that's it for this review. I didn't think I'd be able to get it done today, since I'm at work right now, and I won't be home until 11 PM (I have an acting class tonight), so I'm very pleased with myself. Also, if you haven't watched this week's commentary yet, GO DO THAT. It's with Sendhil and Beeman (not Grunny, as I was originally led to believe because SOMEONE told me it was with "Sendhil and Greg." Why would you call Beeman "Greg"?! HE'S BEEMAN!), and it's absolutely hilarious. Sendhil's reaction when Beeman said that he thought that Sylar's an empathetic guy was priceless (I couldn't tell if Beeman was being serious or not, but Sendhil was like "Umm... Okay. I guess so?" and that is the EXACT quote. LOLOL, Sendhil). Also, he made these faces (screencaps taken by the lovely [info]aratama). You don't really need any more reasons than that to watch a commentary.

Speaking of commentaries, my grandma just got me seasons 1-3 of How I Met Your Mother on DVD, and their commentaries are lolarious. The S1 DVDs have about three full-cast commentaries, and Jason Segel drunkenly hits on one of their male writers in two of the commentaries! I almost felt bad for the poor guy. How come the Heroes actors never do commentaries while drunk and wearing nothing but their underwear?

The people of my flist have spoken, and they want a poll about Mohinder's hair. In order to help everyone choose their favorite Mohinder hairstyle, I gathered some screencaps of Mohinder from the past three seasons (I may or may not have gone a little overboard with the S1 screencaps). Enjoy!

Heroes 3x08: Continuity? What Continuity?

Sylar
Wow. I can honestly say that I was blown away by last night's episode. Maybe not in the way that some people were blown away, but there was definitely some blowin' going on there (wait, when did this turn dirty?). I actually found myself facepalming and shaking my head while I was watching it. And though I was pretty upset before I watched the episode (living on the West Coast allows me to spoil myself silly 2 hours before the episode airs), I couldn't really find the will to feel angry anymore by the time it had finished. I'm just... blown away.

Why didn't God give the Heroes writers a big sister, too? )

Okay, so, seeing as this review has been... umm, well, it hasn't been the most positive review in the world, I would like to make a list of things that I actually liked about this episode:

Click to read about Linderman's burning, unrequited love for Angela )

In other news, I read this old Hayden/Kristen interview the other day, and it's the most adorable thing ever. Sendhil also makes a brief appearance (this interview took place during the shooting of Cautionary Tales), and Hayden mentions that he "sings." Now, my question is, does he sing well?

3x06: High five, turtle!

Sooo... it seems that almost everyone on my flist either loved or hated last night's episode, and... I don't think I feel quite as strongly about this season as everyone else. I mean, I liked it, but... I don't know. I'm just not feeling it. It's gotten so ridiculously cracky that I can't really take it seriously anymore. I'm still enjoying it and all, but it's just not the same. Like, I don't think I'm obsessed with it anymore. In fact, I think I might be getting to the point where it's just gonna turn into "a show that I watch but don't particularly care that much about." The only thing that's keeping me from getting there is my refusal to let go of my love for some of these characters. I'm just hoping that things will go back to normal once we're done with this volume, so that I can finally have my old show back. And I think that probably will happen, because the point of this volume really does seems to be to throw everything off-balance and make everyone go "WTF?!", so I'm not too worried about it.

So, now that I got that out of the way, here's my actual review:

Sylar )

Peter )

Hiro and Ando )

Matt and Daphne )

Adam )

Claire and her Moms )

Mohinder, Tracy, and Nathan )

FINALLY, I JUST WANNA SAY THAT I REALLY HATE THIS VOICE-OVER GUY! JDHGUFHG. WHY DID THEY BRING HIM BACK?! I KNOW THAT THEY'RE TRYING and failing TO RECAPTURE THE GLORY OF S1, BUT I CAN SAFELY SAY THAT THAT IS ONE OF THE FEW THINGS ABOUT S1 THAT I MOST DEFINITELY DID NOT MISS. MAKE HIM GO AWAAAAY!

I approve of the Scream Awards

  • Oct. 19th, 2008 at 9:16 PM
Bitches get stuff done
Hey everyone! I went to the Scream Awards yesterday and ended up getting tickets to the afterparty. It was really fun. I may or may not have gotten a little drunk. I had some beer during the show, and then at the afterparty I had a few drops of absinthe (which I thought was illegal, but apparently not), half of some random cocktail that I didn't like, and then I finally settled on some good ol' dependable red wine. Thankfully, I didn't have a hangover the next day, so I couldn't have been that drunk.

During the red carpet thing, one of the people working there randomly pulled me and a few other people to do a car commercial. It was strange. He was just like, "Admire this car! And you can speak to each other, too." And then they just had us walk around the car in circles as we "admired" it and had fascinating conversations that went like "Look here! It's a car! And it's... black! And shiny! How... exciting!" It was an interesting experience. Plus, I got to go into the show early, so that was nice. Also nice was that I saw a lot of the actors as they went inside, but the not-nice part was that it then took me forever to find my friends, since my battery died and I couldn't call them. But it all worked out 'cause I ended up getting a really good seat.

Unfortunately, the only Heroes actors who were there were KBell and Grunny. And I guess you could count Thomas Dekker... but not really. I also saw a picture of Dania Ramirez at the Scream Awards today, but it was misleading. They just put a picture of her from last year's awards, along with new pictures of Kristen and Grunny. I checked online, she wore the same dress. Silly, silly people. *shakes head*

Also, [info]momar_mole just subjected me to nearly three hours of football. It was terrible. TERRIBLE! I WILL NEVER HAVE THOSE THREE HOURS BACK! *cries*

I finally got around to taking some screencaps of Sylar's ~*~Evil Smirk~*~ from 3x05, because both [info]cazrolime and [info]himhilien  totally missed it (THEY'RE WEIRD). Also,  [info]cazrolime promised me her eternal love in exchange for them, and I couldn't say no to that. It's the second best thing after offering one's ETERNAL SOUL.  Anyway, while I was at it, I also took some screencaps of Mohinder being CREEPY AS HELL. JUST BECAUSE. I don't need an excuse to take screencaps of Mohinder.

Click on meeeeeee )

Oh! And btw, I really want an icon of Sylar that says "I HAZ ~*~TEH HUNGER~*~!!" (word decorations optional). Possibly to a screencap of the scene from S1 where he's yelling "My name is SYLAR!" IF YOU MAKE IT, YOU WILL HAVE MY ETERNAL LOVE!

I should be working...

  • Oct. 14th, 2008 at 3:23 PM
HI!
GUISE. GUISE. I JUST STUMBLED UPON THE ~*~ULTIMATE PROOF~*~ THAT THIS WHOLE HUNGER THING IS COMPLETE BULLSHIT.

Sylar didn't have any powers for the majority of S2, this means that if his hunger is something that goes hand-in-hand with his IA, then it would've disappeared along with the rest of his abilities, but it DIDN'T. He still killed Candice, Derek, and Alejandro, and spent the entire season drooling over Maya's brain. Surely, this means that ~*~THE HUNGER~*~ is something that comes from him, and not his ability!

Credit goes to [info]gossy16 for pointing it out in one of her comments on [info]aelora's journal. I felt the need to share it with the rest of you because it only strengthens my fanwank, and anything that supports my delusions makes me happy.

Also, I posted some very vague spoilers from a new interview with Sendhil over on [info]mylar_fic. You should totes read it.

Okay, okay, back to work now.

Hi guys! Sorry I've been a crappy online-friend lately. I've been super-busy and didn't really have a lot of time to comment or post last week, but I'm back now, so all is good. I hope you're not all, like, over reading people's episode reactions by now, 'cause mine's kinda late. Sorry 'bout that! I thought I'd be able to get it done on Tuesday, but then [info]ibroketuesday got on and literally distracted me for the entire day (LOL, she broke my Tuesday), so I didn't really get anything done. Also, don't get mad at me if I happen to say a bunch of things that [info]ibroketuesday's already said in her episode reaction post. She got there first, but we came up with this shit TOGETHER and I refuse to not ramble about them on my journal, damnit!
